Bitumen Penetration 160/220 is a standard penetration grade Bitumen usually used as a Paving Grade Bitumen suitable for road construction and for the production of asphalt pavements with superior properties. This grade of Bitumen is mainly used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses. Penetration Grade Bitumen supplied by RAHA OIL is petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from fractional / vacuum distillation of crude oil. The Bitumen supplied by RAHA OIL is produced from vacuum residue (short residue) feedstock. Penetration Grade bitumens are specified by the penetration and softening point test. The designation is by penetration range only. The penetration grade bitumens have a thermoplastic property which causes the material to soften at high temperatures and to harden at lower temperatures. This unique temperature/ viscosity relationship is important when determining the performance parameters such as the adhesion, rheology, durability and application temperatures of bitumen. Penetration Bitumen 160/150 is manufactured with selected crude oils inefficient production processes that are undertaken in accordance with quality management standards EN ISO 9001. The consistently high quality is based on the meticulous selection of raw material and careful processing. Constant quality control and additional comprehensive tests ensure the unproblematic use of Bitumen 160/150 in the asphalt mixing plant.
PROPERTIES OF ASPHALT 160/220
Bitumen Penetration 160/220 supplied by RAHA OIL is pure petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from vacuum bottom by passing hot air. The bitumen supplied by RAHA OIL is produced from remain of crude oil after cracking and removing hydrocarbon. bitumen 160/220 has penetration between 160~220 desi-millimeter and the softening point between 35~ 43C. Penetration Grade Bitumen 160/220 is produced from the vacuum distillation of crude oil and is classified according to its penetration range. Bitumen 160-220 is a thermoplastic material that softens gradually as it is heated and hardens as it is cooled. This unique temperature/viscosity relationship is important when determining its performance parameters and application temperatures. Unlike modified binders, penetration grade bitumen acts as a Newtonian fluid at high in-service temperatures, which allows one to establish a temperature/viscosity relationship.
APPLICATION OF BITUMEN 160/220
The Bitumen Penetration 160/220 is a penetration grade, with penetration between 160 and 220. Which is mostly used in road construction, asphalt pavement, and manufacturer of hot-mix asphalt. Penetration 160/220 is used in the construction of single seals, double seals, and Cape seals, either as a tack coat or penetration spray. It is also used as the base bitumen for the manufacture of the majority of emulsions and polymer modified binders. Also Paving Grade Bitumen 160/220 produced by RAHA OIL provides very high performance in terms of resistance to aging, plasticity, and behavior at low temperatures. Thanks to those properties it’s employed to produce bituminous mixes constituting flexible structure for the paving of roadways, runways, pavement, track race, and landing platform.

- The product is also applicable in the formulation process of bituminous emulsions, waterproofing membranes, oxidated bitumens, bituminous paints, special lubricants, and mastics.

RAHA OIL guaranty the quality of bitumen penetration grade 160/220 with the arrangement of the international inspectors to check the quality and quantity of the penetration grade bitumen 100/150 during the loading to the vessel and controlling the production by QC by batch test report before shipping. PACKING OF BITUMEN PENETRATION 160/220
Paving Bitumen 160/220 is commonly packed in new steel drums, 150, 180 & 220 Kg barrels. Likewise, the rest of the grades are ready to load Ex-work bulk Bitumen by truck.
