WHAT IS OXIDIZED BITUMEN 110/30?
Oxidized Bitumen 110/30 is a semi-solid blown asphalt manufactured by injecting hot air into base bitumen in a controlled process, which increases its softening point and stiffness compared to penetration grades. This transformation enhances thermal stability, chemical resistance, and adhesion performance, making it ideal for a variety of heavy-duty uses.

USES OF OXIDIZED BITUMEN 110/30
Blown Asphalt 110/30 is widely used as an anti-slip layer compound in the piling industry, for the manufacture of roofing felts, for sound dampening felts and under carriage sealant in the automobile industry, electric cable joint protection, joint filling compound, sealant compound and many others. It’s using as raw material for Bitumen coat, roofing, insulation also in Isolation bitumen membrane sheet. ASPHALT CONTENTS
The bitumen content of asphalt is one of its most important characteristics. Using an Oxidized Bitumen 110/30 content lower than required may result in a dry, stiff mixture that is difficult to place and compact and will be prone to cracking and other durability problems while possessing lower resistance to fatigue cracking. Too much bitumen is likely to make the asphalt uneconomic because of the relatively high cost of bitumen and, in performance terms, it is likely to make the asphalt prone to bleeding and deformation. Asphalt content of bitumen 110-30 depends on the process of the production line. if heated too much it may convert to coke.
HANDLING, HEATING & SAFETY
Proper handling and heating are crucial to maintain product quality and ensure safe application:
- Heating: Oxidized Bitumen 110/30 should be broken into small pieces and slowly heated to approximately 220–230 °C before application.
- Safe Practices: Always wear protective gloves, goggles, and masks. Overheating can alter properties and create hazards.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, away from open flames and direct sunlight. Always follow the MSDS guidelines.
